Port Chatham Smoked Seafoods' Portlock BrandOver seventy years ago, in the small fishing village of
Portlock Alaska on the banks of Port Chatham Bay, Norwegian immigrants Anne and
Adolph Nilson began developing their art of smoking salmon. They started serving
family and friends as they combined the curing and smoking techniques of local
Native Americans with age-old Scandinavian and European methods. In 1950, the
Nilson’s moved their smoked seafood company to Seattle Washington, an area in
the Pacific Northwest known for its abundance of gourmet products.
Today,
Port Chatham Smoked Seafooids' Portlock Brand is synonymous with premium quality smoked seafood as we
continue to honor our traditional methods. Portlock products can be found in
specialty retail shops, grocery stores, restaurants and hotels as well as on
airlines and cruise ships.
